Three units comprise the JEMB Secretariat Public Outreach office:

  • Civic Education
  • Public Information and Media Relations
  • Small Grant Funds

The JEMB Secretariat Public Outreach office is composed of a HQ team and 35 provincial teams of international and national staff.

The main objectives of the JEMB Secretariat Public Outreach office are:

  • Promote positive attitudes towards the democratic transition in the voter registration and election processes.
  • Provide Afghan potential voters with accurate, culturally sensitive and timely information through mass media, traditional and non-traditional mass communication mechanisms and public events.
  • Devote special efforts to the encouragement and involvement of Afghan women in the voter registration and election process.
  • Contribute to build-up the capacity of the Afghan civil society to develop a nationwide civic education campaign.
