Nuristani: Some Groups Trying to Disgrace Electoral System

Kabul, Afghanistan, March 11, 2015 - In an interview with media, the IEC chairman Dr. Ahmad Yousuf Nuristani says that he welcomes any kind of legal reforms in Electoral commissions.

He says that some media groups, civil societies and some members of the parliament are trying to disgrace the electoral system. He added that they would not let anyone who are trying to bring illegal reforms according to their own wishes.

IEC Celebrates International Women’s Day

Women Day in IEC Kabul, Afghanistan, March 10, 2015 - The IEC celebrated International Women’s Day on March 10, 2015 within its media center.

The event was attended by Mr. Ahmad Yosuf Nooristani, Chairman of the IEC, commissioners, Mr. Awrangzib, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, heads of departments and female staff of the IEC.

First of all, Mr. Nooristani talked about the importance of a woman in Islam and a society.

IEC and IECC cooperate to address fraud, improve electoral integrity

Kabul, Afghanistan, March 02, 2015 - Committed to improving the integrity of elections, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) supports evidence based investigation of connecting any persons to electoral fraud in both Commissions.

The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) published a list of an approximate 10,000 election suspected employees, found alleged electoral irregularities and fraud in the 2014 Presidential and Provincial Council Elections.

Training Workshop Starts for IEC Provincial Staff

Kabul, Afghanistan, March 02, 2015 - The IEC started a training workshop for the IEC provincial public outreach and training officers on Monday.

The workshop held at the IEC HQ and it will last for ten days.

The participants will be trained on teaching and public outreach methods, and also other electorally related issues.
