The first Election Task Force Committee meeting conducted at IEC HQ office on 5th March 2018. The committee is consist of security institution , ministry of finance, Haj and Islamic Affairs, education, higher education, the central statistics organization, population registration department, IDLG, and other Electoral stakeholders who are involve in electoral process. IEC management welcomed the participants and believes that cooperation of the committee has vital role on the related issues, as well as based on 4th article of Election Law IEC listed its basic needs from committee.
Economy Minister Dr. Mustafa Mastor met IEC management and discussed on the criteria of good government and elections today 27th February 2018. IEC management indicates on their technical preparation for conducting of upcoming elections and added that there are some issues like specifying administrative and population for conducting of district elections and security situation within the districts.
MOU has been signed between UNDP and Japan embassy with presence of IEC Chairman at Japan embassy in Kabul for support of electoral process on 21 February 2018. Dr. Abdul Badi Sayad Chairman of IEC as of his presence in the ceremony appreciates always cooperation of Japan and specially thanked for $1.13 million financial support for electoral process.
The Independent Election Commission, respecting the provisions of the elections law, is committed to bringing reforms in all different electoral processes. This Commission while taking into consideration the role and importance of the political parties in a democratic system, especially in the electoral process, has continuously endeavored to seek views, opinions and recommendations of the relevant stakeholders in this national process, especially of the political parties.
